Just came across this good tip on Traveler’s Insurance website. They’re experts, so they should know! Want to know their top tip for hiring contractors (specifically, a local roofing contractor)?
The article stated,
Always consider hiring local, licensed roofing contractors whenever possible. It is easier to deal with a local roofing contractor if problems develop.
However, we know it may not always be possible to work with a local roofing contractor. That being said, make sure to thoroughly check references. Be especially suspicious of door-to-door salespeople who make unrealistically low estimates, refuse to leave a contract overnight, or try to sell their services by playing on your emotions.
